Hey Mom, another post for you!

Hey, Mom. The kids were checking out your new closet!

Here's Dad's bedframe at 3:30. He had the bed on it and made by 4:30!

Linda, this is the livingroom picture you asked for.

Just another shot of the livingroom with it's new flooring.

And another one. This floor is just so pretty! It's going to be hard to see the first scratch on it.

Mom, this post is for you.

Mom - here is your livingroom! No refrigerator, no stove.

No Floor! No Furniture!

Where is your stuff? Well, the livingroom furniture is in my new diningroom:

Your stove and refrigerator are in your new garage:

And your beds are just hanging around in the garage waiting to be set up this afternoon.

It may look like they are close to finished, but there is a lot more to go. There are backhoes in my driveway waiting to get working on what's left of our driveway!

Concrete and Windows

This week the house got a lot of windows! Just look at all that glass to wash!

The Watson side of the house got a new patio door.

These stairs lead from the garage to upstairs. They will be our most used entrance.

These are just some shots in the first floor of the addition.

This is the catwalk from the old house second floor to the addition master suite.

We still have a hole in the roof. It won't be closed until they can join the two houses on the second floor.

I think the shingles in the dining room are an especially decorative touch.

This is our new living room. I think the trash can is a lovely addition.

Here is the egress window. I am calling it the Higley Window because we put it in so that Dan and Linda can escape if they are visiting and the house burns up.

Here is the Watson's living room. I don't think the exposed cords are up to code, but Palmer can still watch TV, so all is good.

This is the Watson bedroom looking into their closet. This week they are going to texture spray it.

These are the hostas. They used to be along side the old garage. All the activity, and they are still alive!

The lawn tractor is in it's new home!

Another week, another blog entry.

Look at that roof over the dining room! The carpenters spent a lot of time on that this week. See the black paper? That means that shingles are not far from being put on!

Here is Gracie doing her best Vanna White immitation! Sam and I were just going for a walk.

Mary took Sam from me to walk him. We have to be careful that he doesn't step on a nail

Here is the small garage. It has a garage door now!

I know this shot is difficult to figure out, but it is of the catwalk that goes over the dining room and connects the master suite with the rest of the second floor. I didn't take any pictures inside the new addition because the stairs are not built yet and I really don't like scrambling up there on a ladder! I know the carpetners were working in there this week because I could hear them.

This is the floor of the large garage. It has been prepared for concrete that will be poured Monday afternoon.

Inside the small garage, they have drywalled, taped and sprayed. Yesterday they put up the garage door!

Inside, they have put drywall up in Mom and Dad's closet, and they have drywalled the ceiling in their bedroom. More to come next week!

The end of July

We are at the end of July and things are going along quite well. I'm a few days late posting because we got real busy this weekend, but I figure an end of the month post is OK, too.

Here is the view from the west. It looks a lot different from last weeks picture! That little diamond window will be over my whirlpool tub!

This is the view from the south. The first floor is the family room. Lots of south windows! The second story is my bedroom.

These two views are from the east. The first of of the family room and the second is of the dining room. The dining room has no roof yet. I am waiting to see how that turns out!

These are the windows waiting installation.

Here are a couple of projects awaiting the mason. The first is shoring up the old foundation. The second is creating an egress window into Dan and Linda's room.

Someday soon there will be a big stairwell in this corner of the large garage.

And finally, let's not forget there is work going on in Bev and Palmer's suite. This their garage. It has been drywalled and taped. This week they get an overhead garage door!

That's all for today. As of the end of July, things are getting done!

Up in the Rafters

Look how last week started!

Isn't this a pretty structure? It reminds me of the wagons the pioneers used!

By Friday, this is what the addition looked like when viewed from the west. The part without a roof is the diningroom/stairwell and the part with the roof is a family room with a master suite above.

These views are from the south and the east, respectively.

This is the view to the west we will see out the master bath window.

To the south, we see our neighbors wooded lot.

To the east, at least on this day, we see my brother-in-law's van.

Some of the family went out on the site on Sunday. Here is Randy making his way up to the master suite. It will be a lot easer to get to when they get the stairs built!

Mary is looking in the kitchen window and then looks like she is going to try to get in the former back door.

Linda even scrambled up the ladders to see what is happening!

Bye 'Till Next Week!
