The end of July

We are at the end of July and things are going along quite well. I'm a few days late posting because we got real busy this weekend, but I figure an end of the month post is OK, too.

Here is the view from the west. It looks a lot different from last weeks picture! That little diamond window will be over my whirlpool tub!

This is the view from the south. The first floor is the family room. Lots of south windows! The second story is my bedroom.

These two views are from the east. The first of of the family room and the second is of the dining room. The dining room has no roof yet. I am waiting to see how that turns out!

These are the windows waiting installation.

Here are a couple of projects awaiting the mason. The first is shoring up the old foundation. The second is creating an egress window into Dan and Linda's room.

Someday soon there will be a big stairwell in this corner of the large garage.

And finally, let's not forget there is work going on in Bev and Palmer's suite. This their garage. It has been drywalled and taped. This week they get an overhead garage door!

That's all for today. As of the end of July, things are getting done!

Up in the Rafters

Look how last week started!

Isn't this a pretty structure? It reminds me of the wagons the pioneers used!

By Friday, this is what the addition looked like when viewed from the west. The part without a roof is the diningroom/stairwell and the part with the roof is a family room with a master suite above.

These views are from the south and the east, respectively.

This is the view to the west we will see out the master bath window.

To the south, we see our neighbors wooded lot.

To the east, at least on this day, we see my brother-in-law's van.

Some of the family went out on the site on Sunday. Here is Randy making his way up to the master suite. It will be a lot easer to get to when they get the stairs built!

Mary is looking in the kitchen window and then looks like she is going to try to get in the former back door.

Linda even scrambled up the ladders to see what is happening!

Bye 'Till Next Week!

The layout features of this website are driving me crazy!!!!!!!

Walls!

The small garage is looking good! Just waiting for the concrete floor (Wednesday), the drywall and the overhead door! Insulation too. Oh - and the pulldown attic door installation.
OK. Lots to do, but it looks good!

The electrician (John) was here!

We have walls this week!
These platforms are the beginning of steps from the east side doors.

Moving right along...

Just today they started framing the garage doors for the large garage!

There is an I-beam sticking out of the side of my house!

There it is again! That I-beam they installed today!

This stack of lumber will give the carpenters something to do next week.

The hostas live on!

This is a shot of the small garage from the top of the driveway.
